National Pharmaceutical Education Foundation was founded by a group of community members Surakarta on July 14, 1957 which is headed by dr. Slamet Prawironoto (late). At the beginning of this foundation established the School of Pharmacist Assistant (SAA), National, currently known as the Vocational School (SMK), National Pharmacy. To further enhance its role in the printing of health personnel for Megara, then on July 3, 1976 National Education Foundation founded the School of Pharmacy Regulatory Analyst (SPA) National currently known as the CMS National Health Analysts. In 1997, the foundation re-take the role in educating and preparing qualified human resources to establish the Academy of Health Analyst (AAK), The National.
Called to the nation, by preparing a superior quality human resources to meet the demand for health manpower level "middle manager" in the pharmaceutical field that it is still lacking, then on the recommendation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia through Pusatt Education Health Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia No. HK.00.06.1.3.04, Academy of Pharmacy (AKFAR) National was established on August 11, 2004 as the fourth educational institution which is under the auspices of the National Pharmaceutical Education Foundation.
National AKFAR become one of the higher education professionals who hold the D-III Education Program under the guidance of Pharmacy Department of Education based on the Ministry of National Education Republic of Indonesia No. 120/D/O/2004 with Operating License Renewal Study Program on 29 August 2006 No. 3171/D/T/2006 and on April 8, 2009 with No. 1857/D/T/K-VI/2009.
The establishment of the National AKFAR to anticipate the concept of education "link and match", which provides the knowledge and skills directly related to the institution graduates users (stakeholders).
National AKFAR campus is located on Jl. Yos Sudarso 338 Surakarta. In 2005, the foundation to expand by creating new four-storey building located beside the old campus. Beginning in 2006, the National AKFAR been occupying a new four-storey building, which is adequate and representative for the organization of academic activities.
